　【上海共同】中国国家衛生健康委員会は1日、江蘇省鎮江市の男性（41）から鳥インフルエンザ（H10N3型）が検出されたと発表した。同委員会によると、H10N3型の人への感染が確認されたのは世界初。「偶発的な感染で、大規模な流行が起こるリスクは極めて低い」としている。
　専門家は「人から人への感染が起こっていないので、現時点で恐れる必要はない」と指摘した。
　男性は4月23日に発熱。症状が悪化し、同28日に医療機関で治療を受けた。現在も入院中だが状態は安定している。同委員会は感染の状況などを明らかにしていない。

Company pulls drugs aimed at treating heart attacks and strokes over nitrosamine contamination
The drug company Pfizer announced Monday it was recalling several lots of its drug Accuretic along with two generic versions, citing unacceptably high levels of a substance that US regulators said could cause cancer. People who used the blood pressure drugs to reduce the risk of stroke and heart attacks were advised to find alternatives.

Several “tainted” lots of Accuretic and two authorized generic versions of the drug (quinapril HCl/hydrochlorothiazide) distributed by Greenstone were found to have levels of N-nitroso-quinapril above the Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) set by US regulators, Pfizer said in a statement. The company provided lot numbers and other information to identify the bad lots of the drugs.

While everyone is exposed to some level of nitrosamines, these “impurities may increase the risk of cancer if people are exposed to them above acceptable levels over long periods of time,” Pfizer noted.

The company did not specify what nitrosamine level was detected in the tainted lots, but said that the drug has “a safety profile that has been established over 20 years of marketing authorization and through a robust clinical program,” as well as that they are “not aware of reports of adverse events that have been assessed to be related to this recall.”

“Pfizer believes the benefit/risk profile of the products remains positive based on currently available data,” the statement said. The recall is purely voluntary and is being conducted “with the knowledge” of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Accuretic and its generics are prescribed for high blood pressure, in order to reduce the risk of “cardiovascular events” such as strokes and myocardial infarctions, i.e. heart attacks.

Patients currently taking them should “consult with their doctor about alternative treatment options,” Pfizer said, while wholesalers and distributors with the listed lots should “stop use and distribution and quarantine the product immediately.”

The New York-based pharmaceutical behemoth is worth billions of dollars and makes a variety of drugs. Over the past two years, it has also emerged as the principal maker of mRNA-based Covid-19 vaccines.

デブはニッチな需要がある



fusion@__fusion氏のこのグラフでは、開始点がもう少し上なのでは？　ほとんど90kgに近かったのではないかと推測。だとすれば約10kgの減になる。

昔職場の若い男性が大きく痩せて見違えたことがある。彼が言うには、巨漢（デブ）は女性のニッチな需要があるのだと。確かに相撲取りの追っかけをする女性もいる。

だが、今は健康面で肥満のマイナス効果が強調されているので、ニッチな需要も消えつつあるはず。

デブの方、一緒に減量に努力しましょう！！

若い方は基礎代謝量が多いので、食べる量を減らせばすぐ減量できます。職場の若い人は通勤時に都内で二駅ほど歩いたと聞いています。

Dozens of young people with no preexisting conditions are developing symptoms of a new disease as activists and families suspect a cover-up on the part of the local government.

A whistleblower with Vitalité Health Network in New Brunswick told The Guardian on Sunday that symptoms include hallucinations, difficulty thinking, limited mobility, insomnia, and rapid weight loss. Local government has reportedly struggled to dismiss the growing number of cases as Alzheimer’s or other neurological diseases uncommon outside the elderly.

While the official number of cases recorded since the mystery illness was first publicly acknowledged in early spring has not budged upward from 48, multiple sources told The Guardian that as many as 150 people may have contracted the fast-moving illness. Still more young people require assessment, and several have died.

“I’m truly concerned about these cases because they seem to evolve so fast,” the source told the outlet, acknowledging that “we owe them some kind of explanation.”

One of the more disturbing elements of the condition is how little is known regarding transmission. In at least nine cases, caretakers and others in close contact with sick individuals have developed similar symptoms to the ailing party, suggesting the illness not only spreads readily between unrelated individuals but that there may be environmental factors involved. Some have compared the illness to Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, a fatal brain disease caused by misshapen proteins called prions, though screening reportedly produced no confirmed CJD cases.

The province has struggled to keep the cases under wraps – the case cluster only became public last year when a memo was leaked to the media, and the government has insisted the “cluster” itself is merely the result of “misdiagnoses” grouping unrelated illnesses together. Officials declared in October that eight fatal cases were due to “known and unrelated pathologies,” rather than a shared and unknown illness. An epidemiological report released in October supposedly ruled out any food, behavioral, or environmental exposure that could explain the problem.

However, another public health scientist who sought to remain anonymous suggested the government was covering something up. “The fact that we have a younger spectrum of patients here argues very strongly against what appears to be the preferred position of the government of New Brunswick – that the cases in this cluster are being mistakenly lumped together.”

Tim Beatty, whose father Laurie died with similar symptoms only to be posthumously declared an Alzheimer’s case, is attempting to have his father’s remains tested for neurotoxins, including β-Methylamino-L-alanine (BMAA), a suspected trigger for the illness. The local economy relies heavily on lobster fishing, and the chemical can be found in high concentrations in lobster, according to a study cited by The Guardian. Beatty and other families who’ve lost loved ones to the mysterious illness have speculated that the government’s refusal to acknowledge the possible existence of the disease cluster in the region could be politically or economically motivated.

“If a group of people wanted to breed conspiracy theorists, then our government has done a wonderful job at promoting it,” Beatty told The Guardian. “Are they just trying to create a narrative for the public that they hope we’ll absorb and walk away from? I just don’t understand it.”

何気なく見ていたが、えっ90kg近くからあっという間に80kg！　これはすごい。fusion@__fusion氏は（元）巨漢？　人様のことはあまり言えないが（^^）



深刻な局面でもユーモアを忘れない。もともと緻密な作業をしておられるようなのだが、とても立派。
12/8退院される、よかったです。



日頃少しずつでも減量しなければ。85kgのレッドラインは下回っているはずなのだが、体重計まで遠くて・・・。

健康診断で2年前よりも体重が減ったことに意を強くして、人様の食事に口をはさみたくなっている。

fusion氏のその後の食事のツイートを見ていたら、氏はかなりのグルメだ。天体観察からバードウォッチングまで趣味も広いが、行動範囲は自宅の庭程度で足りているのでは？

少しでも気を抜くと、じりじり体重が増える恐れありでは？　朝食にビーフシチー、サラダ、「トースト＋マスカルポーネ　牛乳」とあって、DMを送りそうになった。マスカルポーネを食べて目に見えて太った経験がある。

Synthetic starch can be made in lab 8.5 times more efficiently than in nature, potentially revolutionary Chinese study reveals
Chinese scientists have developed an industrial process to produce starch from carbon dioxide. If successfully scaled-up, it may free up farmland currently used to grow plants like maize and potatoes.

Starch is a substance that plants produce from carbon dioxide and sunlight to store energy through a complex metabolic process. It is used extensively in the food industry. It also plays a role in papermaking, biofuel production, and has other applications.

A group of Chinese researchers has developed an 11-step process that synthesizes starch neatly in a bioreactor. A paper detailing their find was published on Friday in Science magazine.

“Starch could in future be made from carbon dioxide in a process similar to brewing beer,” Ma Yanhe, one of the authors who heads the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biology (TIB), told Chinese media.
著者の一人で、天津工業生物学研究所（TIB）を率いるMa Yanhe氏は、中国のメディアに対し、「デンプンは将来、ビールを醸造するのと同じようなプロセスで、二酸化炭素から作られるようになるかもしれません」と語っている。

いくつかの指標では、この人工的なプロセスは自然界で見られるものよりも効率的だという。科学者たちは、工業用デンプンの生産に使われる主食の1つであるトウモロコシの場合と比べて、二酸化炭素の変換率が約8.5倍高いと推定している。彼らの反応を利用した1立方メートルのバイオリアクターは、十分なエネルギーを投入すれば、母国の0.33ヘクタールのトウモロコシ畑と同程度の生産物を作ることができるという。

うつにテレビは悪い





テレビが好きな人は、テレビが流す「こうあるべき」ををそのまま内面化してしまう。ところがどっこい、自分はその「あるべき」姿にはほど遠い。静かになったとき、不安が増し、あるべきでない自分に焦りを感じるのは当然だ。友人の一人が若いころからテレビ愛好家だったが、10年以上前から私がテレビを見なくなって全く話が合わなくなった。役に立つ情報は伝えるが、受け入れる度量がないと感じたときは、そこで話は止めている。器はどんどん小さくなっている。不安にさせたらうつが強くなってしまう。

カナダ南東部で、プリオン病に似た未知の致死性脳疾患患者が次々に確認されている。致死性の高いクロイツフェルト・ヤコブ病と症状が似て、記憶喪失、視覚障害、痙攣などの症状がみられるが、原因も治療法も明らかになっていない。早い進行に、患者は大きな不安を抱えている。

狂牛病は、骨粉に含まれたストロンチウムが原因とされています。人間が牛を経由してストロンチウムを体内に取り込みクロイツフェルト・ヤコブ病を発症した例があります。

今回の異変は、カナダの南東部、大西洋に面したアケイディア半島に患者が集中しているとのことで、原因はわかっていない。

最近とみに軍国化している老人の行進歩行練習

初出2018/5/13、2021/5/7、5/9追記　末尾に今回の行進の動画あり。

最近とみに軍国化している私、徘徊時の歩行を少し格好よく見せたいと行進歩行練習をしてみたりしています。



でも、足を前に大きく振って歩くのは大変難しく、しかも足を傷める恐れがあることを１分で悟りました。

上の行進はシリア軍の兵士です。儀仗兵のような服装です。足が伸びていて格好がよい。

競歩は腰で歩くようなもの（たぶん）ですが、行進では腰から上は揺るぎません。足の短い日本人の行進歩行はどうなるのだろうと思っているのです。

やはり足が上がっていませんね。次は女性でしょうか。



おんなじです。

以前、ロシアの地方都市での行進の動画を見たとき、隊列の先頭脇にいた年配者が道に落ちていた女性の靴を拾い上げました。先行した女性の隊列の参加者が落としていったものです。そのとき、観衆から歓声が上がったと記憶しています。

冷戦時代のものではありませんから比較的最近でしょう。ロシアの社会の雰囲気もだいぶ変わったんだなあと感じました。

足を地面に叩きつけるように着地しますから合わない靴なら脱げるでしょう。メインスタンドの真ん前ですから、そこからは少し乱れてもよかったでしょうけど、裸足で速く歩けば足が痛みます。

動画を確認できました。リャザンでした。その隊の最も偉い方のようです。







この隊長の照れたような表情がとても良いです。
　



長時間の行進歩行は、日本の学校の組体操のようなものかもしれません。

2021年も5/9はロシアの戦勝記念日のパレードが行われます。夜間の練習風景が伝えられていますが、これは昼間のフルドレスでの最も本番に近い形での練習。練習風景が流れるようになったのは、やはり大きな変化です。

お姉さんたちの分列行進、とっても格好いいです。


でもよく見ると左側の行進の前方にいる人たちと後ろ、末尾にいる人たちでは、だいぶ足の出方が違います。ちょうど右足が前に出ている瞬間ですが、後ろから2列くらいはどうも揃っていない。一番こちら側の人は足を合わせようと右側の人たちの動きをじっと見ています。

それに左側（前方）の人は、背丈があり、足も長い感じです。スカートが少し短めの人もいて、捲れているところが刺激的。先頭を一人で歩く方は、それほど背が高くないようですから、スカートが長く見えます。後ろのほうにいる方も同じですね。

背が低い方は、当然歩幅も狭くなります。どうやって遅れずについていけるのか不思議に思っているのです。10歩ごとに1歩余計に歩くというわけにもいきませんから。

2021/5/9は日曜日。RTかSPUTNIKが中継するのではないでしょうか。日本との時差は6時間ですから日本の夕方ですね。

私は見ようと思っていますが、目当てはお姉さんの足ではなくて最新兵器です。

2021/5/9、日本時間で午後4時に軍事パレード開始。モスクワは曇りで寒そう。途中で雨が当たり始めました。お姉さんたちは短いスカートで行進でしょうか？　さて。

細めのズボンのほうが足の動きがよくわかる。


最新型のタンクのようです。対戦車砲に強くなっているとされます。


核搭載可能な長距離ミサイルでしょう。冷戦時代にはこんなものの登場が多かった。


長距離爆撃機に空中給油のデモも

パレードが終わってから各隊の代表者がプーチンにあいさつするために一列に並んで待っていました。両脇にいる人たちに中央に寄るよう促してからねぎらいの言葉を述べたようです。


2年前には、ショイグがプーチンと向き合っている（報告している？）時間が長くて異様でしたが、今回は短くて敬礼の後握手をしてすぐにプーチンの演説に移りました。権威主義的な印象を薄めようとしているように見えます。

最後にプーチンとタジキスタンの大統領が無名戦士の記念碑に花輪を捧げて終わりました。

My advice:

Get Pulse oximetry. It is a small, clip-like device, a non-invasive and painless test that measures your oxygen saturation level daily.

Mine was between 96% and 97.5%. It should not go below 92%-95% otherwise you are in trouble.

And above all: don't panic.
