I am more persuaded this morning than I was last night that very little of this developing story is what it currently seems.

My best guess is Putin wants Trump to hear a message directly, away from all the handlers, neocons, and “narrative”. Just as Trump still thinks Warp Speed and the vaccines were a success, I think Trump still thinks Russia is losing tens of thousands of troops monthly.
