MOSCOW, May 11. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that contacts between Russia and Ukraine in the sphere of talks proceed.

"Contacts [between Russia and Ukraine] are ongoing," she said on Radio Sputnik.

Zakharova also commented on US statements that Washington does not see a "viable negotiating path" for resolving the Ukrainian conflict. "I think many of the statements are made under the influence of the change of the current US administration, which is now taking place. <...> We should not be surprised at the scattered and contradictory statements we hear," she said.

いったん、ロシアとウクライナの停戦・和平交渉が始まりましたが、途中でやる気をなくしたのはウクライナ側です。

ここにきてロシアとウクライナの接触が始まったということは、ウクライナ側が戦闘継続に限界を感じているということです。

交渉がどう進展するかは予断を許しませんが、時間がかかればその間、ロシア側は、支配地域の守りを固めるでしょう。

ロシア軍兵士の交代や補給は、的確に行われています。

MOSCOW, May 13. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz once again discussed the situation in Ukraine, including the course of talks between Moscow and Kiev delegations, the Kremlin press service said.

It is noted that the conversation focused mainly on the humanitarian aspects of the situation in Ukraine. "Vladimir Putin outlined in detail the logic and the main tasks of the special military operation to protect the people's republics of Donbass, spoke about the measures that are being taken to ensure the civilians’ safety," the statement said.

"It was also mentioned that with the participation of the UN representatives and the International Committee of the Red Cross, the evacuation of civilians held by Ukrainian security forces at the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol was carried out," the Kremlin informed.

Putin also drew Scholz's attention "to the continuing gross violations of international humanitarian law by the Nazi ideology militants and the inhumane methods that they are using," the press service said in a statement.

The Russian and German leaders discussed and gave a fundamental assessment of the process of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations, which are "essentially blocked by Kiev," the Kremlin stressed.

The discussion was held at the initiative of the German side. Following the conversation, the two leaders agreed to continue the discussion of the aforementioned issues during contacts via various channels. The Russian president and the German chancellor have already had several telephone conversations since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, each time paying attention to this topic in their conversations.


Talks With Ukraine de Facto on Hold as Kiev Not Interested in Dialogue, Putin Says
Moscow and Kiev held several rounds of talks after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine without reaching any kind of agreement.
President Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow-Kiev negotiations are on ice during talks with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinisto, the Kremlin announced.

"The leaders also discussed the situation in Ukraine. Putin, in particular, shared his opinion on the negotiation process between [the] Russian and Ukrainian sides, which was basically suspended by Kiev, as it does not show interest in a serious and constructive dialogue", an official statement read.
Moscow and Kiev held several rounds of talks, with the latest attempt to find common ground held in Istanbul in late March.
In the meantime, Russian forces and DPR and LPR militias continue fighting against Kiev's troops in Donbass and Ukraine, pressing them back amid the special operation.
The op was launched by Moscow in February in order to stop the eight-year-long war in Donbass. President Putin stressed that the actions of the Ukrainian military in the region amounted to genocide and noted that Russia's goal is the denazification and demilitarisation of Ukraine.
