Kurdish Forces Retreat from Manbij City in Northeast Aleppo
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) retreated from the city of Manbij in Northeastern Syria as the Turkish government disclosed reaching an agreement with the US on the city.

"The military advisors of the Kurdish-led People's Protection Units have left Manbij city," the Kurdish Havar news website quoted YPG Central Command as saying.

The YPG said that withdrawal of its military advisors has taken place after they accomplished their mission of assisting the training of Manbij Military Council.

Meantime, Manbij Military Council Spokesman Shirvan Dervish told the Arabic-language service of RT that he is unaware of any agreement between Washington and Ankara on Manbij in Northern Aleppo and nothing has been notified to them. Dervish said that he is still waiting for a relevant approval.

Meantime, Turkish foreign minister had announced that Turkey reached an agreement with the US on roadmap and disarmament of the Kurdish forces and their withdrawal from Manbij city.

He also reiterated that the said roadmap will be implemented for withdrawal of these forces from Raqqa and Kobani.

In a relevant development in late May, the militants supported by the Turkish army and the US-backed Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters engaged in clashes in Northern Manbij in Northern Syria on Thursday.

The Kurdish-language Hawar news quoted Manbij military council as reporting that the offensive launched by militants backed by Ankara against the Kurdish positions was repelled after clashes between the two sides.

It added that the Turkey-backed militants attacked the village of al-Mahsanli in Northwestern Manbij with mortar fire, killing and wounding several civilians.

The attacks were launched only a few hours after the Kurds dismissed reports on the US-Turkey agreement on Manbij and withdrawal of the Kurdish forces from the region.

Kurdish Political Delegations Voice Readiness for Unconditional Talks with Damascus
TEHRAN (FNA)- Syria's Democratic Council has voiced readiness for holding talks with the Syrian army amid reports that Washington and Ankara have reached an agreement on the city of Manbij in Northern Syria, Kurdish sources disclosed.

Head of Syria's Joint Democratic Council Elham Ahmad has declared the council's preparedness for unconditional talks with Damascus government, the Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television channel reported.

The presiding board of Syria's Democratic Council has reached the conclusion that "Syria-Syria Talks" are only solution to non-interference of foreigners, Ruda news quoted Syria Democratic Front's official spokesman as saying.

The US and Turkey have already reached an agreement on a roadmap for the Syrian city of Manbij.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said Washington and Ankara have reached an agreement on Syria’s Manbij issue.

The top diplomat stated that details of the roadmap regarding the withdrawal of Kurdish fighters from Manbij will be made public during the meeting with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Meantime, the US state department announced on Tuesday that the US doesn’t have any agreements yet with Turkey on Manbij, northern Syria.

“We don't have any agreements yet with the government of Turkey. We announced previously that the United States and the Turkish working group met...in Ankara on Friday of last week,” State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert said during a daily press briefing.

“We're continuing to have ongoing conversations regarding Syria and other issues of mutual concern. The two sides then had outlined the contours of a road map for further cooperation, and that includes on Manbij," she added.

Syrian Army, Kurdish Militia Moving Head to Head in Hasaka
TEHRAN (FNA)- Reports from the Eastern province of Hasaka indicate that tensions are rising between the Syrian Army troops and the Kurdish militias, with some sources saying that tensions might end up in imminent clashes.

The Kurdish units have dispatched a large number of forces and equipment form al-Malekiyeh in Northeastern Hasaka to the town of Qamishli.

In the meantime, the army has detained Hamoud Hossein al-Keirat, a commander of the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG), along with seven of his fighters in Qamishli.

The Kurdish militia have, meanwhile, arrested three Syrian soldiers.

Military analysts believe that tensions between the Kurds and the army are unprecedented, adding that direct confrontation between the two sides is possible now.

Last week, civilians in the Northeastern province of Hasaka called on the Syrian Army to support them as tensions went high between the locals and the US-backed Kurdish militias in the region.

People Qariwan neighborhood in Hasaka city took to the streets and opposed the Kurdish militias' forced recruitment. Protesters cut off roads connecting Qariwan to al-Nashwa neighborhood to prevent the Kurds from entering their region.

Sources said that popular uprising has spread in several neighborhoods, including al-Nashwa al-Qarbiyeh next to Qariwan, adding that people have called on the army to interfere and support them against the Kurdish militias.

The Kurdish militias' measure, mainly forced recruiting of young men in Hasaka, has angered people.

The sources went on to say that the Kurdish militias arrested 30 civilians in al-Saad Camp in Southern Hasaka after the refugees embarked on filming the Kurds' mistreatment of the refugees.

Saudi, UAE, Jordanian Military Officials Meet SDF Commanders in Northern Syria
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Saudi, UAE and Jordanian military commanders held a meeting with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) leaders in Northern Syria while earlier reports said that a 'border guard force' has been formed by the Kurdish forces in the region with the financial support of Riyadh.

Al-Jazeera news channel reported on Thursday that the Saudi, Emirati and Jordanian military officials met the SDF leaders and field commanders in the international coalition during their 24 hour visit to the US-led coalition's base in Kharab Ashk in Ein al-Arab (Kobani) region in Northeastern Syria.

Also, other reports said that the visit was aimed at establishing Arab military units in the region with al-Sanadid Forces, an SDF-affiliated faction, as its backbone.

Sources stated that in the upcoming period, the units would form one of the border guard forces, with the Saudi funding.

A militant-affiliated website reported on Tuesday that a number of Jordanian officers have participated in training the US-backed Kurdish Border Guard forces in a camp in Northern Syria.

Smart news affiliated to the US-backed Arab militias in Northeastern Syria, disclosed that six Jordanian officers along with four US-led coalition forces have joined training of Border Guards of the Syrian Democratic Forces in Hasaka.

The training camp is located in Sabah al-Kheir base South of Hasaka city, it said, adding that light weapons were used while training.

Smart news went on to say that the border guards have deployed along Syria's border with Iraq and Turkey, adding that the guards will serve two years and are paid a monthly salary of 115,000 Syria's lira.

The report claimed that there is no Saudi officer in the region at present, but, they are expected to arrive in the region soon.

TEHRAN (FNA)- The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have started forcing children to take part in organized crime and robbery in Raqqa city.

The Washington-backed SDF has started using children from 7 to 14 years of age for stealing assets of civilians from houses in Raqqa.

A local source said that a number of children that had been arrested while stealing peoples' properties and possessions have disclosed that the SDF militias forced them to join the US-backed group at a base near Bimo Bank and forced them to participate in looting people's houses in Raqqa.

Damascus government said on Wednesday that the illegitimate US-led International Coalition was targeting civilians in the villages of Hasaka, Raqqa and Deir Ezzur as a retribution for their refusal to join US-allied separatist militias.

In a letter addressed to the UN Secretary-General and President of the United Nations Security Council, Damascus lambasted the Coalition’s incessant aggressions targeting innocent Syrian civilians and Syria’s sovereignty, safety and territorial integrity.

Citing a slew of atrocities the Coalition perpetrated in the villages of al-Hasaka, which left scores of civilians dead and many others injured, the Foreign Ministry stressed that the attacks are intended to punish the locals for their reluctance to join separatist militias allied to the United States.

According to the letter, the US has been restructuring relations with ISIL terrorists, integrating some within these militias and using others in mounting attacks against the Syrian Arab Army’s sites with a view to recapturing areas the Syrian army and allies have liberated from terrorism.

The letter added that the Coalition had not balked at providing overt military backing to ISIL terrorists against the Syrian army, the latest of which was on May 24 when its warplanes targeted military outposts for the Syrian army between Albu Kamal and Humeimeh in Deir Ezzur countryside 24 hours after the Syrian army managed to abort ISIL attack against the sites.

The Coalition’s sole aim is to undermine Syria’s sovereignty, safety and territorial integrity and prolong the crisis in it which contravenes the UN Security Council’s resolutions, the letter noted.

The Ministry urged the Coalition’s member country to pull out of this “outrageous coalition”, calling on the UNSC to assume its responsibilities in preserving international peace and security and take immediate action to end its massacres.

The letter also called for terminating the illegal US and foreign presence on the Syrian territories and to call a halt to the US plans in support of terrorism.

“The US hostile polices in Syria, the region and the world lack ethical grounds because it has become part and parcel of the threats which endanger international peace and security,” the letter concluded.

The US-led coalition has been conducting airstrikes against what are said to be ISIL targets inside Syria since September 2014 without any authorization from the Damascus government or a UN mandate.

Analyst: Kurds Left with No Option but Talks with Syrian Gov't
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Syrian analyst referred to the agreement between Washington and Ankara on Manbij, and said the Kurds' willingness to talk with the Syrian government indicates instability in their ties with the US and a major political development in the Syrian Kurds.

Nadhal al-Saba'a told the Arabic website of Sputnik news agency that the US agreement with the Turkish government on Manbij, the US ignorance of Turkey's intervention in Afrin and their disappointment at the US position about the Iraqi forces' deployment in Kirkuk after announcement of the results of referendum by Barazani are why the Kurds are now willing to talk with Damascus.

He added that the Kurds' concerns about the dissident forces and extremist terrorist groups like the Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board), al-Qaeda and Jeish al-Islam's deployment in Idlib, specially after the battle in Afrin during which many Kurds left the region are among other important reasons for the Kurds to change attitude.

Al-Saba'a said that the Kurdish forces have understood that formation of a Kurdish government in Iraq and Syria is impossible and the experience of the 7-year war in Syria has proved that this idea is not supported by the international circles.

"The US supports the Kurds only when its positions stand against those of Turkey and it backtracked from supporting the Kurds after the first agreement with Erdogan," he added.

Al-Saba'a underscored that the Kurds have no way but returning to Syria's arms and withdrawing from all security, military and political cooperation with the US in Northern Syria, adding that change of power equations in Syria and the results of battles in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, Douma, Hajar al-Aswad and Yarmouk made the Kurds welcome President Bashar al-Assad's invitation for talks.

Turkey’s defense minister said that Turkish and US soldiers will patrol the key Northern Syrian town of Manbij as part of a deal reached last week for the withdrawal of a Syrian Kurdish militia.

Speaking in Brussels after a NATO summit late Friday, Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli said he met his American counterpart James Mattis. “We had a very detailed, constructive and positive meeting on the Manbij roadmap,” he said.

Turkey has repeatedly called on the US to stop backing the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units, or YPG, which it considers terrorists and an extension of a Kurdish insurgency within its own borders.

But, meantime, the Russia-run Humeimim airbase in Lattakia province announced that the Washington-Ankara agreement on the city of Manbij in Northern Syria is not acceptable.

The Russian airbase announcement came on Wednesday in reaction to an agreement reached between the US and Turkey on a roadmap for Manbij city.

"The agreement on Manbij reached between Turkey and the US is by all means rejected," Russia's Humeimim airbase said.

It reiterated that the agreement has been reached without coordination with the Syrian government and between two countries that are illegally present in Syria; "hence such agreement is void".
