US Preparing Kurds to Confront Syrian Army
TEHRAN (FNA)- The US continues military aid to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to prepare them for confrontation against the Syrian army in Eastern Damascus, media sources reported on Thursday.

The Arabic-language al-Hadath news website reported that the US forces delivered a new cargo of weapons, including mid-range missiles, to the SDF through the border passage between Syria and Iraq, Simalka, last Sunday.

It added that given the field information in regions controlled by the Kurds and the fact that the ISIL has lost a major part of its military power on the Eastern bank of the Euphrates river, delivering weapons to the Kurdish forces is possibly aimed at preparing them for battle against the Syrian army or the Turkish army and its affiliated militants who are involved in the Euphrates Shield military operation in Syria.

The news website, meantime, added that Washington might also be after trade objectives through the military aid to the Kurds so that it will receive a large amount of inexpensive oil for selling its weapons to the Kurds in line with attempts to create a federal system in Northern Syria.

Also, the developments in Eastern Syria indicate that Washington is seeking new strategies for battle in Syria to attain its goals after the terrorist groups were defeated by the Syrian army in different fronts and wants to display the Kurds as the number one enemy of Damascus by provoking the SDF commanders to utter harsh words which create more tension.

A number of SDF gunmen were killed or wounded in the fight against the Ankara-backed militants in Northeastern Aleppo on Monday.

The Turkey-backed Thowar al-Shoyoukh Battalion affiliated to the Free Syrian Army stormed the positions of the SDF in al-Tokhar near the al-Sajor River near the town of Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo and managed to prevail over their strongholds.

A number of the SDF fighters were killed and tens of others were wounded in the clashes.

Also, two SDF fighters, along with their weapons and equipment, were captured by the Ankara-backed militants.

ISIL's Senior French Recruiter Found in Kurdish Refugee Camp in Syria
TEHRAN (FNA)- French citizen Emilie Koenig - that stands in the US and UN lists of most wanted ISIL terrorists and is a senior recruiter of the terror group - is being held at a Kurdish refugee camp in Northern Syria, the recruiter’s mother said.

"I talked to my daughter in the weekend. She is being held at the Kurdish camp for refugees, she is being interrogated and tortured," the woman told media, Sputnik reported.

She wants to ask French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian to assist in the repatriation of Koenig, who "is asking her family, friends and country" for a pardon.

Koenig, 33, reportedly adopted radical Islamist ideology after being influenced by her first husband, who was of Algerian descent. In 2012, she left France for Syria leaving behind two children and recruited at least 200 French citizens to fight for ISIL. Koenig, who changed her name to Ummu Tawwab, has also called for attacks on French government facilities and servicemen.

SDF Releases Scores of ISIL Members in Northeastern Syria
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have released over 25 ISIL members, and started a fresh wave of arrests against civilians in camps under their control in Raqqa province, local sources reported on Wednesday.

The sources said that the SDF has freed 26 ISIL members that had been previously captured in the town of Ein Issa in Northern Raqqa.

The sources further said that SDF has, instead, started arresting civilians in a camp near Ein Issa.

The arrests were launched after an SDF members was attacked by unknown raiders at the entrance of Ein Issa.

The pro-opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Monday that the SDF transferred over 40 ISIL terrorists in Deir Ezzur to Hasaka province in Northeastern Syria.

The SOHR said that over 40 ISIL terrorists - that had surrendered to the SDF in Southeastern Deir Ezzur - have been transferred to Hasaka via Northern Deir Ezzur.

A Turkish daily reported on Sunday that the US forces deployed in Syria transfer a large number of ISIL commanders and senior members to the safe areas and military bases controlled by the SDF in the country.

The Turkish-language Sabah newspaper reported that the ISIL commanders and terrorists are transferred to the SDF bases to undergo advanced trainings to carry out terrorist acts.

It quoted the local sources as saying that the US helicopters, carrying the ISIL commanders, land in the SDF bases in Deir Ezzur and Hasaka mostly mid night.
