Kurds Say US Troops Engaged in Covert Ground War With ISIL for Months
US President Barack Obama has maintained that the redeployment of 300 military “advisers” into Iraq is not a return to combat operations. But according to Kurdish fighters, US soldiers have been involved in a covert ground war for months.

In June, President Obama announced a major shift in strategy. To combat Daesh, also known as ISIL/The Islamic State, the US would redeploy 300 "military advisers" into Iraq. But to appease a war-weary constituency, the president insisted that these forces could not be considered combat troops.

Ex-London Mayor: If UK Bombs Syria, ISIL Will 'Come Here and Kill Us'
TEHRAN (FNA)- Britain's involvement in the war in Syria is gathering momentum with the political rhetoric ramping up on both sides of the House of Commons and in the British press.
London's former Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, joins the debate as he says that extending airstrikes to Syria would lead to more ISIL militants on UK streets.
My Livingstone believes it would only make Daesh, also known as ISIL, more determined to "come here and kill us".
"No-one is going to get safer. We are going to get more at risk," Mr Livingston told the Today program.
The former London mayor said the bombing campaign would serve as a "good recruiting sergeant" for the terrorists.

The Syrian Army and the National Defense Forces, supported by Russian air strikes, have reportedly managed to drive Daesh out of a long section of the strategic Aleppo-Raqqa highway in northern Syria.

Backed by Russian air strikes, the Syrian forces have regained control of a considerable part of the strategic Aleppo-Raqqa highway from Daesh militants in northern Syria, according to the Iranian news agency FARS.

On Tuesday, the government troops stormed Daesh positions along the Aleppo-Raqqa highway, forcing the terrorists to retreat and suffer large casualties in the fighting, sources said.

Deal reached for Syria rebels to leave last Homs district - governor
A deal has been reached for the evacuation of Syrian opposition fighters from the last district under their control in the central city of Homs, AFP quoted the provincial governor as saying Tuesday. “We will implement the agreed deal in stages, with 200-300 armed men leaving in the first stage… starting on Saturday,” Talal Barazi said.

At least 18 terrorists of Jeish al-Fateh terrorists were killed and injured near Morek in Hama, informed sources said.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi announced that militants of al-Wa'ar district in the city of Homs have reached an agreement with the Syrian government for their gradual exit.
"The militants and the government in a meeting on Tuesday agreed on gradual retreat of all militant groups from al-Wa'ar district," al-Barazi told FNA on Wednesday.
He noted that the UN representative also attended the Tuesday meeting.
Al-Wa'ar is the only remaining base of the militants in the city of Homs.
Earlier today, scores of Takfiri militants were killed in other parts of Homs province as the Russian and Syrian airstrikes hit their strongholds across the province.

TEHRAN (FNA)- A growing number of militants are giving up fight against the Damascus government as the Syrian army is advancing in multiple front across the country.

Some 200 wanted militants from Zabadani region and Madaya in Damascus province turned themselves in to the authorities on Saturday.

"The Syrian government has vowed to pardon all those who lay down arms voluntarily and it has remained loyal to its pledge so far, and this has encouraged us to give up fight, specially considering that the government troops, National Defense Forces (NDF) and Hezbollah who also enjoy the air backup of the Syrian and Russian air forces has gained momentum in its battlefield victories," one of those who surrendered in Damascus today said.

Until last year, most surrendering cases happened in Homs and Damascus provinces, but now a growing number of militants lay down arms across the country.

Late in November, sources said some 159 wanted militants turned themselves in to the authorities as the army continues to purge almost the entire coastal province of Lattakia of terrorist groups.

The sources said that the recent victories of the Syrian army and National Defense Forces (NDF), with the back up of the Russia fighter jets, have caused too many Takfiri terrorists to lay down their guns and apply for government pardoning in Lattakia province.
