US Soldier Likely Killed by Turkish Army in Late April Operation
TEHRAN (FNA)- A US Army terrorist might have been killed in an attack by the Turkish troops in Northern Aleppo in late April amid continued clashes between the Turkish Army and the Kurdish fighters there, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.

The Kurdish-language Hawar News website reported that the Turkish Army and its allied militants launched artillery and missile attacks on the Kurdish military positions in the village of Samouqeh, al-Shahba Dam in Northern Aleppo which resulted in fierce clashes between the two sides.

Meantime, the SOHR also pointed to the Turkish army's continued attacks on Kurdish military positions in Northern Aleppo, and said there is a good chance that the Turkish Army has killed the US soldier near Aleppo on April 28.

The report went on to say that despite the US claims on the death of its soldiers in a shootout incident in Zourmaghar region in the surrounding areas of the city of Ain al-Arab (Kobani) in Northern Aleppo, the accusations are targeted at Turkey because the Turkish Army had attacked a military vehicle in the region on the same day when the US soldier lost his life.

In a relevant development in late April, reports from Afrin and A'azaz regions in Northern Aleppo said that heavy clashes had erupted between the Kurdish fighters and the Turkish army and its affiliated militants, adding that the Turkish army has pounded the Kurdish positions in Northern Aleppo with artillery fire.

The Kurdish fighters had penetrated into the military positions of the Ankara-backed militants after fierce clashes between the two sides in al-Bab region in Northeastern Aleppo, sources said.

The Kurdish fighters attacked the militants who are allies to the Turkish Army from al-Daghbash axis near the village of Abaleh West of al-Bab city in Northeastern Aleppo, sources affiliated to the Turkey-backed militants said.

The sources pointed to the penetration of Kurdish fighters into one of their military points in Abaleh village, and said that at least five Turkish Army soldiers were killed and several others were wounded in the Kurdish attack.

The SOHR, meantime, pointed to very fierce clashes between Kurdish fighters and Ankara-backed militants in Northeastern Aleppo, and said that both sides sustained casualties in the clashes.

モンゴルが黒死病の恐れで厳戒態勢 日本は実質的に豚コレラ汚染地域

Mongolia is gripped by fears of a pandemic after two Russian tourists died of a highly contagious disease, suspected by authorities to be the Bubonic Plague, also known as the Black Death.

Medical personnel donned hazmat suits and boarded a flight landing in Mongolia’s capital of Ulaanbaatar to intercept passengers who came from the affected region. Eleven passengers were put under “indefinite quarantine” at a nearby hospital.

“Preliminary test results show that bubonic plague likely caused the deaths of the two people,” said Mongolia’s National Emergency Management Agency. “The province’s office has declared an indefinite quarantine” in the Bayan-Ulgii province.

Authorities believe the tourists, a husband and wife visiting from Siberia, were infected after eating contaminated wild game, and estimate the couple came in contact with some 158 people before they died. They, too, have been placed into quarantine.

The male tourist, named in reports only as ‘Citizen T,’ succumbed to extreme illness on April 27, while his pregnant wife passed away three days later.

The likely source of the disease? Marmots.

Marmots are known to carry one of the deadliest forms of the plague bacterium, thought to spread to humans either by parasitic fleas or by consumption of the animal’s meat.

“Despite the fact that eating marmots is banned, Citizen T hunted marmot,” said Dr. N. Tsogbadrakh, director of the National Center for Zoonotic Dermatology and Medicine. “He ate the meat and gave it to his wife, and they died.”

The couple left four children orphaned.

Border closures left some nine Russian tourists trapped in the country, prompting them to seek help from the Russian consulate. A Russian border official said the closures were related to the May holiday, and that the crossings will reopen on May 5.

The Black Death wiped out one third of Europe’s population in the Middle Ages, but the disease can now be treated with antibiotics. Every year, seven Americans on average contract the plague, but due to medical advances mortality rates have shot down dramatically. Without medicine, however, the disease can kill in under 24 hours.

China’s pig ‘Ebola’ outbreak 'will move markets, influence geopolitics' for years to come
A minor outbreak of African swine fever among some 400 pigs in Shenyang in northeastern China is now threatening the global food supply chain and may increase pork prices for years.

Despite a mass cull, a blockade to prevent any further transmission and a government declaration that the outbreak of the particularly nasty strain of swine fever had been “effectively controlled,” China, the country with half of the world’s pigs, failed to stop the spread of the disease in time. Domestically, this contagion is already massive: China has a $128 billion pork industry and is third-highest global consumer of pork.

In the truest sense of the word, the outbreak has already gone viral, spreading to Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia and farther afield. The strain of African swine fever kills virtually every pig it infects with a bloody death reminiscent of Ebola, although it is not known to infect humans.

“It’s the biggest thing to affect the animal-protein market this year, and will probably have a lasting effect for a number of years,”said Angus Gidley-Baird, a commodities analyst with Rabobank in Sydney. “It will move markets and possibly influence geopolitical situations.”

Official estimates in China count one million culled pigs so far but many expect 100 times that number will be eradicated in 2019. The US Department of Agriculture is predicting a decline of 134 million animals from Chinese hog populations, equivalent to almost one-and-a-half times the entire US inventory of 75 million pigs.

Effects have already been seen on the other side of the globe. The price of bacon in Spain already jumped 20 percent in March owing to increased Chinese demand, while wholesale pork prices in China are reportedly up 19 percent from 2018 levels, and rising.

“If I really like bacon, I’d be kind of stocking up,” says Steve Meyer, an industry economist with Kerns & Associates in Iowa, as cited by CNBC.

The US-China trade war already includes retaliatory tariffs amounting to an effective 60 percent import tax on American pork coming into China. 2019 is the Chinese zodiac’s year of the pig, but it may prove to be much more ominous than auspicious.

Expert: Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi Reappearance Meant to Justify US Military Deployment in Iraq

FARSNEWS2019/5/36
Report: Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi Living in US-Controlled Areas for Long Time
TEHRAN (FNA)- Recent photos of ISIL ringleader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi released on the Internet shows that he has been living in a safe area for several years as he has gained a lot of weight, the Arabic-language media reported.

The Arabic-language al-Ahd News Website in a report analyzed a recent video footage of al-Baghdadi, and said that his conditions and his clothing and the way he has dressed shows that he is not on the run.

It noted that after heavy and consecutive defeats of the ISIL terrorist group in Iraq and Syria, releasing the video showed that the second phase of a long-term battle by the ISIL under Washington's leadership has begun.

The al-Ahd further noted that a deeper look at the video footage, specially the movements of al-Baghdadi's hands and head and his way of hiding his looks and the way he avoids looking straight into the cemera, all suggest that the ISIL leader is in a confusing and weakened state.

It, meantime, said that the overweight and the color of his skin clearly show that Al-Baqdadi has not been under any US siege in al-Baqouz region of Syria, but has most likely been kept in a place away from sunlight.

Al-Ahd said that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's use of a machine-gun and a box on his side is surely meant to mimic the style of Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan's mountains for the people.

It further noted that given the fact that al-Baghdadi is wearing clothes belonging to Western regions of Iraq and Eastern parts of Syria as well as a rug made in Aleppo factory of Syria which was exported to Iraq until 2013, it can be implied that al-Baghdadi has not left the area stretching from Syria's al-Tanf to Mosul of Iraq which is an area protected by the US.

Al-Ahd also pointed to ISIL's access to high-quality video and audio techniques, and said that the video image has been released in line with the US efforts to pretend that the terrorist organization is still threatening Iraq and Syria and the presence of the US-led coalition forces is still needed in these countries.

In a relevant development on Thursday, a senior Iraqi military source in al-Anbar said that the US forces deployed in the Western parts of the province are aware of ISIL ringleader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's whereabouts, moves and hideouts.

The source was quoted by the Arabic-language al-Ma'aloumeh news website as saying on Thursday that the Americans are in possession of all intelligence about al-Baghdadi but refrain from providing them to the Iraqi government in a move to exert pressure on Baghdad to keep the US forces in the country.

He added that ISIL commanders close to al-Baghdadi who had been arrested by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have disclosed all intelligence about al-Baghdadi to the Americans.

Meantime, Abbas al-Ardawi, a senior Iraqi security expert, said that al-Baghdadi's reappearance is in line with the US plot to create insecurity in Iraq and keep its forces in the country.

In relevant remarks on Wednesday, another Iraqi expert also said reappearance of al-Baghdadi in front of the cameras after five years was aimed at justifying the US military deployment in Iraq.

Hamad al-Dulaimi told the Arabic-language al-Arabi al-Jadid news website that the Iraqi parties which favored the US continued deployment in Iraq were much likely to make use of al-Baghdadi's move to magnify potential threats by the ISIL.

He added that the US was the first to misuse al-Baghdadi's reemergence politically and as an emphasis on its recent warnings about the danger of ISIL and importance of its forces' presence in Iraq.

Al-Arabi al-Jadid also quoted Iraqi officials as saying that al-Baghdadi had come into sight again as Iraqi security forces were running operations to cleanse Jabal Hamrin mountains and some regions of al-Anbar desert from terrorists, adding that the ISIL cells were now in their weakest conditions since the freedom of Mosul and after they were stranded in desert areas.

Al-Baghdadi in a new video message released after five years threatened to take revenge of the killed and jailed members of the terrorist group.

The ISIL terrorist group released an 18-minute video message of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in which he had threatened to continue his terrorist activities.

Al-Baghdadi was seen with three masked militants while the ISIL ringleader pointed to the ISIL's exit from Baqouz region in Eastern Deir Ezzur and reiterated that the Baqouz Battle had ended.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi also said that he would take revenge of his killed and captive militants, adding that the ISIL had conducted 92 terrorists operations in eight countries to take revenge of its killed and captured members in al-Sham region.

The ISIL ringleader also claimed that the Easter blasts in Sri Lanka had been carried out in line with ISIL's revenge for Baquouz battle.

The newly-released video of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was the first since the last one released in Iraqi Mosul's Nour Mosque in 2014.

On Saturday, Russian media reports claimed that al-Baghdadi was in Syria's Badiyeh (desert) region, attempting to cross the border into Iraq.

The Arabic-language service of RT news channel quoted an Iraqi intelligence source as saying that al-Baghdadi was at present hiding in Abu Rajmin mountain near Syria's Palmyra region in Homs province.

He added that the ISIL leader wants to cross the border into Iraq in the next few weeks, noting that he has already made several unsuccessful attempts due to the tight security measures at the border.

The report said captured ISIL terrorists have leaked during interrogations that al-Baghdadi has been left with a small number of Saudi, Tunisian and Iraqi militants who are still loyal to him.

Security experts said al-Baghdadi is likely trying to join the ISIL terrorists who have been transferred by the US from Syria to Iraq.

Trump & Putin talked on phone about possibility of a new nuclear agreement with US, Russia & China
US President Donald Trump has spoken by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the possibility of a “new nuclear agreement” in a call which lasted a "little over an hour,” the White House said.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Trump and Putin also discussed North Korea, with Trump urging Putin to put more pressure on Pyongyang to denuclearize. The pair also discussed the unfolding political crisis in Venezuela.

Sanders said the conversation also briefly touched on the recent publication of the Mueller report, which cleared Trump and his 2016 campaign team of alleged “collusion” with Russian officials.
