After military failure, Saudi, allies resort to diplomacy on Yemen’s Hudaydah

After military failure, Saudi, allies resort to diplomacy on Yemen’s Hudaydah
By Jafar Razi Khan

Political experts believe that after Saudi Arabia and its regional and international allies failed to conquer Yemen’s Hudaydah port through military force, they are currently turning to diplomatic means in order to reach a settlement with the Houthi Ansarullah fighters, thus attesting to ability of the country’s popular forces to head off aggression against the Yemeni people.

Saudi Arabia and some 20 of its allies, including the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Sudan, launched a brutal war, code-named Operation Decisive Storm, against Yemen in March 2015 in an attempt to reinstall Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh, and crush the popular Ansarullah movement.

The imposed war initially consisted of a bombing campaign, but was later coupled with a naval blockade and the deployment of ground forces to Yemen.

The aggression reached its peak last month when the Western-backed Saudi-led alliance launched an all-out assault on Hudaydah port city aiming to bring the Houthi resistance to its knees at the risk of worsening the world’s biggest humanitarian crisis.

Saudi warplanes and warships pounded Houthi fortifications for several weeks to support ground operations by foreign and Yemeni militants gathered south of the port in the so-called Operation Golden Victory.

This reckless assault to capture Yemen’s main port threatened the lives of hundreds of thousands of civilians.

The US, Israel, Britain and France reportedly took part in the assault along with Saudi and Emirati forces. The US has assisted Saudi Arabia and the UAE in "conducting aerial bombings in Yemen" and provided "midair refueling services" to their warplanes.

In a report on June 16, French newspaper Le Figaro reported that French special forces were present on the ground in Yemen with forces from the United Arab Emirates.

The newspaper gave no further details about their activities, but a French parliamentary source recently told Reuters that French special forces were in Yemen.

On June 15, the French Defense Ministry said France was studying the possibility of carrying out a mine-sweeping operation to provide access to Hudaydah port once the Saudi-led coalition had wrapped up its military operations.

Despite US support for the Saudi war, Mohammed Abdul-Salam, the spokesman for Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement, on Sunday confirmed that the Saudi-led military alliance had dismally failed in its bid to overrun the strategic western Yemeni port city of Hudaydah.

“The enemies’ scenario to march into Hudaydah has resulted in failure, because they heavily relied on psychological warfare and media propaganda, concealing the real facts on the ground,” Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah television network quoted Abdul-Salam as saying.

Abdul-Salam also added that Saudi Arabia and its allies have not allowed any peace negotiations to bear fruit ever since the Yemeni conflict broke out.

Japanese ‘facing extinction’ as humans turn to silicon sex dolls (VIDEO)
As Japan’s birth rates fell below the 1 million mark last year, experts have pointed the finger at the rising popularity of sex dolls for singletons.

The issue is the focus of the RT documentary ‘Substitutes,’ in which experts warn that sex dolls are fueling a national mood of loneliness and alienation, making people less interested in human relationships and procreation, and turning the Japanese into an “endangered species.”

Industry insiders claim that up to 2,000 life-like dolls, each with adjustable fingers, a removable head, and genitals, are sold annually in Japan. For sex doll salesman Noburu Tanaka, the advantage of owning one of the \420,000 ($3,750) synthetic dolls is its lack of expectation. “It’s an amazing feeling. It looks like a doll, but you feel as though it’s really alive,” he told RT. “When you make love to your wife, there can be some problems. With a doll, none of that matters.”

Experts have seen evidence of declining birth rates in areas where there has been a contrasting rise in sex doll sales. For Kanako Amano, a demography expert at the NLI Research Institute in Tokyo, the dolls pose an existential threat to the future of a country where the population is estimated to decline by a third in the next 30 years. “The biggest problem in Japan is the decline in birthrate and population. It’s being called a national disaster,” she said. “The Japanese are at a crossroads, facing the threat of extinction. We’re an endangered species.”

Loneliness among older people seems to be the main driver of the rise in doll sales in Japan. Moru, a sex doll owner, purchased his in the years after the death of his wife. “There was a void in my heart,” he told the documentary team, as he pointed at the row of dolls arranged in a sitting position on his couch. “When I met them, my life became inextricably bound to them. Since these girls appeared in my home, and thanks to them, I haven’t felt that lonely anymore…”

Moru regularly teams up with his friend Keroro, an owner of up to 20 dolls, for drives or trips to the park. They pose the dolls alongside each other on park benches before taking photographs, joking about the human qualities of their inanimate partners, remarking about how tense or nervous one looks.

The dolls are not only used by older people, however. Hitsuji, a young female model, popular with teenagers in Japan, adores her doll Masiro and says she has no desire to live with men.

“Masiro is not a friend, a family member or a loved one. She’s a creature who accepts my love,” she said. “I have never consorted with men like that.”

Demography expert Amano believes the statistics offer a staggering insight into the problem faced by the Japanese. “The curve of unmarried men and women is spiking up. This is the nation’s most accurate and trustworthy research,” she said.

Japan to re-consider deployment of Aegis Ashore missile system in case of health danger for locals
An upcoming environmental impact study could see the Japanese government scrapping the deployment of the US anti-missile Aegis Ashore system, if electromagnetic waves emitted from its powerful radar are found to affect the health of citizens living nearby. The comment was made by the ministry of defense in response to questions from citizens of Akita Prefecture on Japan’s north-west coast, where one of two Aegis Ashore batteries is planned to be stationed from 2023. A second battery will be stationed in the south-western Yamaguchi Prefecture and both will be tasked with intercepting potential ballistic missiles from a hostile North Korea. The ministry also warned that citizens of both prefectures should “take measures so as not to affect the human body during deployment.”

Meanwhile, other media activists disclosed that Jordanian officials have allowed Southern Syria terrorist commanders to enter Jordanian territories along with their families.
The Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria, meanwhile, reported that almost 1,000 terrorists and their family members will soon exit Dara'a province according to an endorsed peace agreement.

このダウラーの約1,000人がいつどのような経路で退出したかは明らかではありません。

FARSNEWSの報道によると
A media outlet disclosed on Monday that Israel has evacuated a sum of 2,200 foreign intelligence officers and spies along with 800 members of the pro-militant White Helmets Organization from Southern Syria.

Russia Vows to Respond with China Against US Missile Shield Deployment to Japan, S. Korea

Russia Vows to Respond with China Against US Missile Shield Deployment to Japan, S. Korea
TEHRAN (FNA)- Russian Ambassador to China Andrei Denisov stated that South Korea and Japan undermine their own security by endorsing the US missile defense system’s deployment to their territory, while Russia and China have to take retaliatory measures.

"Those who house such facilities on their territory, which our Chinese partners and we think pose a threat to our security, essentially put their security in jeopardy as we have to take some retaliatory measures, and this is absolutely obvious," the ambassador told reporters on Monday, TASS reported.

In December 2017, Japan’s government made a decision to expand the country’s missile defense shield with two US-made Aegis Ashore missile defense systems, which are expected to be deployed to the north and southwest of the country’s main Island of Honshu tentatively in 2023 to help ensure security from possible ballistic and cruise missile attacks. These systems will cost Japan about 100 bln yen ($897 mln) each.

Russia and China have been opposing the deployment of US missile defenses to Japan, emphasizing that it would negatively affect the regional balance of power.

In June 2016, South Korea’s government announced that it backs the deployment of the US Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system. The ground-based system is designed to shoot down ballistic missiles in their terminal phase of flight and while approaching the target.

The pretext for deploying THAAD on the Korean Peninsula on a permanent basis was the need to counter North Korea’s missile and nuclear threat.

Israel Evacuates 3,000 Foreign Intelligence Officers, Own Spies, White Helmets from Southern Syria

FARSNEWS2018/7/23
Israel Evacuates 3,000 Foreign Intelligence Officers, Own Spies, White Helmets from Southern Syria
TEHRAN (FNA)- Israel has evacuated a sum of 2,200 foreign intelligence officers and spies along with 800 members of the pro-militant White Helmets Organization from Southern Syria, a media outlet disclosed on Monday.

The Arabic-language al-Mayadeen tv network quoted well-informed sources as disclosing that Israel has evacuated a sum of 2,200 Saudi, Qatari and Emirati intelligence officers and spies from Southern Syria via occupied Palestinian territories.

It further said that the total number of the spies and White Helmets who have been transferred from Southern Syria to the member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization via Jordan and via the occupied Palestinian territories stands at 3,000.

Al-Mayadeen went on to say that the evacuation operation has been carried out at Washington's order to Al-Mouk Operation Room in Jordan, adding that 800 of the evacuated people will be relocated to the US, Canada and Europe.

German tabloid Bild reported, citing its own correspondents in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, on Sunday that tens of the self-described aid workers, who operate exclusively in militant-held areas, crossed into Israel from Southwestern Syria overnight on Sunday.

The White Helmets' passage was facilitated by Israel, according to Bild, which reported they were transferred through an Israeli military base.

The evacuation kicked off at 9:30 pm local time on Saturday and was expected to continue into the night. Several roads were put on lockdown by the army and police as part of preparations for the exodus.

The Israeli army claimed that the move was carried out in line with humanitarian objectives on the request of the US and the European nations.

In the meantime, Spokesman for the Jordanian Foreign Ministry Mohammad al-Qayed was quoted by the Arabic-language website of the RT as saying that Amman has agreed the UN demand for temporary passage of 800 members of the White Helmets from Syria to settle them later in the Western nations.

He further pointed to a legal commitment promised by the UK, Germany and Canada to resettle the White Helmet members as it is claimed by the western states that life of the Syrian members of White Helmets Organization that once were operating in militant-held region under National Defense title is now in danger as the Syrian Army is capturing the entire Southern Syria.

Terrorists Destroy Own Supply Line to Israel before Withdrawal from Southern Syria
TEHRAN (FNA)- The terrorist groups retreating from Quneitra in Southwestern Syria destroyed their main supply line to Israel on Monday before their mass exodus from the province under an agreement with the Syrian Army.

The terrorists of Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) set fire at a passageway through which they were receiving arms and ammunition from Israel.

The terrorists further burned one of their arms depots at a base which was once a center of International Peace Keepers in Quneitra.

In the meantime, local sources reported that a sum of 959 terrorists that had refused the Syrian army's peace offer left Quneitra for Northern Syria on 46 buses along with their family members.

On Sunday, four notorious field commanders of the terrorist groups fled the battlefield in the Southwestern province of Quneitra towards the Palestinian occupied territories as the Syrian Army sped up the momentum of its advances in Dara'a and Quneitra.

Ma'az Nasar, the commander of Liwa Farsan al-Joulan, Ahmad al-Nahas, the commander of Alawiya Seif al-Sham, Ala al-Halqi, the commander of Jeish al-Ababil and Abu Ratib Nasar, another commander of Liwa Farsan al-Joulan escaped in Quneitra towards positions of the Israeli army.

The Syrian Army soldiers arrived at the border with the Israeli-occupied Golan after seven years and after government troops imposed control over tens of villages and towns in Quneitra.

Israel has been providing financial and military supports for the terrorist groups in Quneitra province in the past recent years.

Russia: Evacuation of White Helmets from Syria Lowers Chances of False-Flag Chemical Attacks
TEHRAN (FNA)- Evacuation of the pro-militant White Helmets Organization from Syria has decreased the possibility of more false-flag chemical attacks in Southwestern Syria, Embassy of the Russian Federation in occupied Palestine said in an ironic statement carried in a tweet on Monday.

"At least there is one positive consequence. The chances that White Helmets will use chlorine in order to stage a chemical provocation in South-West Syria have decreased," the Embassy of the Russian Federation tweeted today.

German tabloid Bild reported, citing its own correspondents in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, on Sunday that tens of the self-described aid workers, who operate exclusively in militant-held areas, crossed into Israel from Southwestern Syria overnight on Sunday.

Syrian Army Regains Control of Several Towns at Border with Occupied Golan
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army forces imposed full control over more villages and small towns at Quneitra border with the Israeli-occupied Golan on Monday after withdrawal of militants from the region under a reconciliation deal.

The army men entered the village of Naba'a al-Sakhar in Quneitra province and hoisted Damascus flag in the region following withdrawal of militants.

Other units of the army retook control of the small towns of al-Karam, al-Roweihina and Rahina in Western Quneitra.

Local sources, meantime, said that the army men have deployed at a borderline agreed in 1974 to buffer forces following recapture of the villages of Koudneh, al-Asba'a and al-Ashah.

The sources further said that the army is planning to recapture the remaining border points in Quneitra as soon as militants retreat from the region.

On Sunday, four notorious field commanders of the terrorist groups fled the battlefield in the Southwestern province of Quneitra towards the Palestinian occupied territories as the Syrian Army sped up the momentum of its advances in Dara'a and Quneitra.

Egyptian President Says Arab Countries Face Imploding from Within

FARSNEWS2018/7/23
Egyptian President Says Arab Countries Face Imploding from Within
TEHRAN (FNA)- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi warned in a speech at a military academy graduation ceremony in Cairo that Arab countries, including Egypt, are vulnerable to imploding from within.

"The real danger is blowing up countries from within. Rumors, acts of terrorism, loss of hope and feeling of frustration, all these work in a grand network aimed at one objective, only one objective, and that is to move people to destroy their country," Sisi said Sunday, presstv reported.

The mastermind of the July 2013 military coup against Mohamed Morsi, Egypt’s first democratically-elected president, said his government had detected 21,000 false rumors over a period of three months.

"Destroying our countries will not happen unless it came from within. We must be alert and pay attention to what is being spun against us in secret," Sisi added, without naming any party.

Sisi came to power as president in June 2014 after winning a landslide victory in the presidential election held a month earlier with securing nearly 97 percent of the vote.

His government has been cracking down on any opposition, in which hundreds of Morsi supporters have been killed in clashes with Egyptian security forces over the past few years.

Sisi's government has faced criticism from ordinary Egyptians over the raising of fuel, electricity and transportation prices, under an IMF reform plan calling for austerity measures that have made life tougher for many Egyptians.

The cash-strapped Sisi administration has tried to persuade the public that painful austerity measures would be to the benefit of the country. However, frustration is high among Egypt's 90 million population.

On Sunday, Sisi stated that he understood the economic hardships that ordinary Egyptians are enduring due to economic reforms. However, nothing justifies "causing chaos and destroying the state," he added.
