Shocking VIDEO shows torture in Russian prison, authorities launch probe
Russian authorities have launched a criminal probe after gruesome footage showing a prisoner being tortured in a Russian jail emerged online. It shows a half-naked, handcuffed man being severely beaten by multiple guards.

Russia’s Novaya Gazeta newspaper published the video on Friday, but says the incident took place in June of last year in a prison in the central Russian city of Yaroslavl.

Around a dozen officers were filmed beating a prisoner, who’s lying on the table, with batons and fists on his legs and heels, and also pouring water on him. The footage was reportedly filmed by a Federal Penitentiary Service officer and was provided to the newspaper by lawyers of the Public Verdict Foundation, a human rights organization.

The prisoner, whose name is Evgeny Makarov according to the paper, reportedly choked and lost consciousness several times, pleading with the guards to stop.

Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched criminal proceedings for violent abuse. Earlier, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Yaroslavl Region also launched a probe into the incident and said that all perpetrators will be held accountable.

Russian Envoy: OPCW Report Failed to Clarify Delayed Inspection in Syria's Douma

Hey, remember when Trump bombed Syria last April because U.S. INTELLIGENCE found that Assad had used sarin gas? REPORT: NO SARIN. NO NERVE GAS.

OPCW Issues Fact-Finding Mission Reports on Chemical Weapons Use Allegations in Douma, Syria in 2018 and in Al-Hamadaniya and Karm Al-Tarrab in 2016.

Russian Envoy: OPCW Report Failed to Clarify Delayed Inspection in Syria's Douma
TEHRAN (FNA)- Russian Ambassador to Syria Alexander Kinshchak said Wednesday that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) interim report on the probe into the incident in the Syrian city of Douma has failed to clarify why the mission’s inspectors did not arrive on time to the site of the incident.

"We [Russia] did not like the report because it does not mention the reasons that kept OPCW inspectors from arriving on time to the site of the alleged chemical incident. They arrived in Damascus on time. We promoted this and encouraged it in every possible way. However, it took a long time for them to get to Douma from Damascus. Why? Nothing is written about it in the report. And it happened because on April 14 the United States and their closest allies … carried out a massive missile and bomb attack on Syria," Kinshchak told the Rossiya 24 broadcaster.

The OPCW Fact-Finding Mission (FFM) said in a report on July 6 that the investigators found no traces of nerve agents in the environmental samples or samples collected from alleged casualties of April's reported chemical weapons attack in Douma.

At the same time, OPCW experts stated that they had found traces of organic substances containing chlorine, along with explosive residues. The FFM pledged to continue its work to draw final conclusions.

The OPCW has been probing the allegations of the use of chemical weapons in Douma that emerged in early April.

Without waiting for the probe's results, the United States, backed by France and the United Kingdom, promptly fired over 100 missiles on what they called the Syrian government’s chemical weapons sites, accusing Damascus of using hazardous substances against civilians.

Both Damascus and Moscow have refuted allegations, saying that the attack in Douma was staged by militants and the White Helmets non-governmental organization to influence public opinion and justify foreign intervention.

Classify Salisbury, Amesbury Cases as Harboring of Criminals

Classify Salisbury, Amesbury Cases as Harboring of Criminals
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that if the UK classifies the Salisbury and Amesbury cases, Moscow will interpret it as an attempt to hide the masterminds and perpetrators of these crimes.

Russia intends to exert political pressure on the UK side in Skripal case, Russian Ambassador to the UK Alexander Yakovenko said, adding that "these are reports in the media, no official statements of the British side, unfortunately. I want to hear from Scotland Yard, from the Foreign Office. Many versions in the newspapers are not confirmed at the official level", Sputnik reported.

According to him, the embassy has repeatedly asked the British Foreign Ministry to confirm various versions, but hasn't received any substantive answers.

Yakovenko intends to meet with the new head of the British Foreign Ministry, Jeremy Hunt, and discuss bilateral relations and the Skripal case.

"I was just informed at the embassy that I received a letter from the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, where the new Foreign Minister sends me greetings, and I plan to resume my offer to meet with Foreign Minister Hunt and discuss Russian-British relations. I did not get such a meeting with the previous minister [Boris] Johnson, I think he did not have the opportunity to operate on certain data," Yakovenko said on the eve of the ambassadors' meeting.

UK Investigators Claim They Have Identified the Skripals' Attackers
TEHRAN (FNA)- UK investigators believe they have identified the suspected perpetrators behind the A234 nerve agent attack on the Skripals.

UK Investigators have identified several suspects through CCTV and have cross-checked the footage with records of people who entered the country around that time, Sputnik reported.

UK National Security Adviser Mark Sedwill told the UK lower house defense committee in early May that no suspects had been identified in the March attack on the former Russian intelligence officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury.

Skripal and his daughter were found unconscious on a bench near a shopping mall in Salisbury in early March.

The United Kingdom and its allies have accused Moscow of having orchestrated the attack with what UK experts claim was the A234 nerve agent.

Russia has denied having any role in the poisoning, pointing to the lack of evidence provided by London to substantiate its accusations. Moscow has also released a list of questions addressed to the UK authorities on the case.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, for his part, signaled Moscow's readiness to provide assistance in the probe into the Skripal case, stressing that Russia hadn't been provided with any specific facts proving its involvement in the Skripals' alleged poisoning.

London has refused to cooperate with Russia on the case, or provide samples of the substance allegedly used against the Skripal family.

Both Skripals have been already discharged from the hospital.
